John Cooper started J&P Woodcrafters decades ago, building custom outdoor Sapele screen doors — and word got around fast. Sapele is the secret: it stays dead straight, never warps, and holds up beautifully outdoors, exactly what a Lowcountry door needs.
Phil Votaw joined him — a self-taught builder with 30-plus years in the trade and the same eye for detail. They've been a tight team ever since, and every piece leaves the shop ready to hang: hand-finished, no sanding needed. No frills and no shortcuts — just two woodworkers who care about getting it right.
